Progress, progress, progress!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mothers out there! Hope your Sunday is going well and you have some fun plans for the day. Studio time lately has been very productive and am looking forward to completing all of the illustrations for the children's book "The Sick Bug" within the next couple of days. I am really anxious to get the images to the finalized stage and see how it plays out in the book format with all the text layed into it. It is hard to believe that it has been a little under three months since I started the book, but I guess time flies when you are having fun! So with that, I will leave you with a couple of illustrations from the book.

Cute. I especially like perspective of the one where she appears to be drinking water from a glass.

Thanks Hanna. I really appreciate you stopping by and checking out my work. About the only thing I would say about the depiction of characters is to make sure that you are comfortable with showing that same character in many different ways. Practice sketching characters over and over again and put them in different positions, activities and such so that the character feels the same in each one. I know it is hard and I don't always accomplish that sometimes, but it is a great way to really get to know the characters that you are drawing or painting!
